FG engages new lawyers to prosecute terrorism charges against Nnamdi Kanu

The Federal Government has engaged the services of a legal luminary Adegboyega Awomolo to lead its legal team in the prosecution of treasonable felony charges it brought against Nnamdi Kanu.
Awomolo is taking over from David Kaswe a senior lawyer from the Federal Ministry of Justice in Abuja who has been handling the case for the federal government.
In the same vein, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu charged with terrorism offences by the Federal Government has engaged new lawyers for his defense.

It was gathered that a new team of lawyers to be led by PAM Ejiofor and Alloy Ejimakor will take over Kanu’s defense in the 7-count charges.
No reason has been adduced for the change in the legal team being led before now by Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN and Ifeanyi Ejiofor.
Meanwhile, the court has already been jam-parked by lawyers, traditional rulers, clergymen, family members and sympathizers of the Biafra agitator present.

Kanu has kick- started a fresh battle for his bail in the terrorism charges brought against him by the federal government.
The motion for bail dated February 5, 2024 is being handled by Alloy Ekimakor on behalf of Kanu.
However, the federal government counsel, Adegboyega Awomolo SAN confirmed receipt of the motion for bail.
