Past National Publicity Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Dr. Rapulu Nduka, has joined voices across the world to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child, calling for equal access to education, healthcare, and leadership opportunities for girls.
In his message, Dr. Nduka described the day as one to “honour the resilience, creativity, and boundless potential of girls everywhere.” He noted that despite progress, many girls still face challenges such as gender-based violence and discrimination that silence their voices and limit their dreams.
He urged collective action to “stand with every girl child—championing her rights, amplifying her voice, and supporting her journey to a brighter, limitless future.”
The International Day of the Girl Child is observed globally every October 11 to promote the empowerment and rights of girls.

Today, we join the world to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child—a day to honor the resilience, creativity, and boundless potential of girls everywhere.
This year’s commemoration reminds us that every girl deserves equal access to education, health care, and opportunities to lead yet, too many continue to face obstacles such as gender-based violence and discrimination that silence their voices and limit their dreams.
Let us stand with every girl child—championing her rights, amplifying her voice, and supporting her journey to a brighter, limitless future.
