The death of our foremost legal luminary, Alh Aliyu Umaru, SAN came to us a rude shock. It is painful that he left at the time the Bar and the Country needed him the most.
Alhaji Aliyu Umaru, SAN lived a well spent life. He was a great and uncommon legal icon, greater even in death. He served God and humanity very deligently. He served Government of Kano State as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice. He served the Bar as the Chairman, NBA Kano Branch. He was a well principled man and God-fearing known for his simplicity, professionalism and erudition worthy of emulation. No doubt, he will be greatly missed by all of us, particularly our people from Kano State.
Death is always a strong admonition for all of us to be godly and religious in our dealings everyday. No matter how good we are, no matter how long we live, we will all die one day.
It is our prayer that Almighty Allah forgive Alhaji Aliyu Umaru, Senior Advocate of Nigeria and grant him Alijannah fridaous and give the family fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
We equally sympathize with the Government of Kano State, Attorney General of Kano State and our brothers and sisters of NBA Kano Branch in this trying moment. May God fortify you. Ameen!
