ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR 2025 COMBINED LAW WEEK

I am delighted to extend my heartfelt goodwill to the Chairmen, Executives, Elders, and distinguished members of the Nigerian Bar Association across all the Enugu State Branches, as you gather for your 2025 Combined Law Week.

This joint effort reflects the unity, vision, and shared commitment of the Enugu Bar to advancing the cause of justice and strengthening the legal profession. At a time when collaboration has become essential for institutional growth, it is inspiring to see all branches within Enugu State come together to reflect, interrogate, and re imagine the future of justice delivery in Nigeria.

The theme, “Enhancing Justice Delivery in Nigeria: Emerging Issues, Challenges, and Innovations,” is timely and compelling. Our justice system stands at a pivotal moment facing evolving societal demands, technological disruptions, and the need for more efficient, transparent, and human centred processes. This Law Week provides an important opportunity to engage with those realities and to chart a progressive path forward.

The Enugu Bar has always been renowned for its intellectual vibrancy, advocacy excellence, and unwavering commitment to the rule of law. Bringing all branches together under one programme deepens this legacy and sets a powerful example for other jurisdictions.

I commend the leadership of all Enugu branches for the vision behind this combined Law Week and the Organising Committee for curating a programme that promises robust conversations, innovative ideas, and practical insights for strengthening justice delivery in our nation.

As you deliberate, may your discussions inspire brave reforms, deepen professional camaraderie, and reaffirm the Bar’s defining role as the conscience of society.
