Legal Nigeria

MY PROFOUND APPRECIATION – By John Aikpokpo-Martins, Esq.

MY PROFOUND APPRECIATION .
May I through this medium thank the entire body of lawyers in Nigeria for overwhelmingly electing me as the 1st Vice President of our noble Association (NBA) for the 2020-2022 tenure. I am extremely humbled that you placed your faith, hopes and trust in me to discharge the onerous duties and responsibilities of the office on your behalf, in a determined bid to re-position the NBA. This is a responsibility that I do not take lightly, and I will endeavor to represent you with the utmost transparency, sheer commitment, drive and passion.

I would like to thank my co-contestants for running such a fair and competitive campaign devour of favour and bitterness. I must specially thank all of my teeming supporters and volunteers (both known and unknown) all over the country who worked passionately, tirelessly, relentlessly, and selflessly to help us achieve this accomplishment, in our collective quest to achieve a welfare oriented bar; you invested your precious goodwill, time, finances and intellect in this project; you believed, you are the best!

I have been speaking to the President-elect and we are determined to make a difference that will be a reference point in the annals of the history of the Bar. We intend to write our names in gold, and we shall certainly do that with the support of all, and by the grace of God.

Lastly, I also want to use this medium to commend the ECNBA for the dexterity and unrelenting efforts channelled towards the entire election process, and for making same a free, fair, transparent and successful process.

My special commendation to the President, Paul Usoro, SAN for creating the enabling environment for a free and fair election; history will be kind to you.

The NBA must be about lawyers, and you have said so loud and clear with your votes.

Once again, thank you for this divine mandate and opportunity.

God bless the NBA.

John Aikpokpo-Martins, Esq.
1st Vice President-elect.
