GOODWILL MESSAGE TO THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS OF THE MUSLIM LAWYERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (MULAN) ON THE OCCASION OF THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING HOLDING IN DUTSE, JIGAWA STATE.

I felicitate with the President, Executive and members of the Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria (MULAN), as you gather in Dutse, the serene State capital of Jigawa State for your National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting which comes up today, Saturday, the 29th of February 2020.

The central focus of this National Executive Meeting I understand is “Catalysing the Attainment of Justice in Nigeria through the Instrument of Sharia” and I am confident that the overriding influence of justice at all levels of governance, Federal, State and Local Government will be the primary consideration and promotion of the Sharia system as an integral part of our Laws in this country.

I had planned to be with you at this meeting personally in solidarity and fellowship; however, due to an unavoidable engagement in Ekiti State on Friday, the 28th day of February 2020, I will not be able to make the trip again. Please pardon my absence. Notwithstanding my physical absence, please be rest assured that I am with you in spirit.

It is my belief that as you deliberate, this meeting will provide an opportunity for an objective evaluation of the state of our Judiciary in particular, and the Legal Profession in general, not only within the context of the main theme but additionally in the context of the larger issue of a better system of administration of Justice in our country.

While wishing you a very successful deliberation, I pray the Almighty grant you journey mercies back to your various destinations.
